RACE REPORT

What a fabulous race it was - the 10th Powerman Malaysia, held 13th November 2011. Living up to the reputation of the hottest Powerman race in the International Powerman series, the maximum of 35 degrees celcius temperature did not stop over 1000 athletes from having a great time in the town of Seri Manjung, Perak. Athletes taking part were close to 50 Team Relay racers and 300 Sprinters who raced alongside the Individual Long Distance racers - all coming together from 28 different countries across the globe.

 

The Men's Elite and Women's Elite race was a close fight from the start of the first run leg, till the end of the cycling leg and it was really the final run leg of 10km that really decided the winner as racers began to spread out. Rob Woestenborghs from Belgium took the 1st place in the Men's Elite race, finishing in 2hrs:40min:15sec beating the 2010 champion's time by 20 seconds.

 

In the Women's Elite race, Radka Vodickova from Czech Republic became champion for the 3rd consecutive year with the time 3hrs:3mins:44sec.
